Saddle Fitting
Test ride a saddle from our range of NEW or 2nd hand saddles, or have your current saddle assessed and adjusted. Poor saddle fit can cause pain, tension, and resistance — the right saddle fit creates freedom, balance, and partnership.
Ride in Comfort, Perform with Confidence
Your horse deserves a saddle that fits just right because a saddle should work with your horse, not against them.

How do I know if my current saddle doesn't fit?
Five signs that your saddle might be hurting your horse include:
-
Behavioral changes when being ridden such as bucking or pinning back the ears
-
Physical signs such as a sore back or white hairs in the saddle area
-
Performance issues like stumbling or difficulty bending
-
Uneven sweat patterns under the saddle
-
A saddle that shifts excessively while riding
How do you ride in your saddle?
We focus so much on the horse and the suitability of the saddle but here is one for the rider.
Ever considered getting some footage of you riding to assess how a saddle may effect your posture and riding mechanics? That's why our saddle fitting consultation includes a ridden assessment.
So, what's included in a saddle fitting consultation?
This is a terrific question!
Our saddle fitting consultations are thorough and tailored to both you and your horse.
Here's what's included:
Comprehensive Assessment: A detailed evaluation of your horse’s structure and biomechanics, including posture and musculoskeletal function.
Saddle Fit Analysis: An in-depth inspection of your current saddle—how it fits (or doesn’t fit) your horse—and an explanation of any issues.
Ridden Assessment: We observe you and your horse under saddle to assess how the saddle performs in motion and how it affects your horse's movement and your position.
Conformation Assessment: Evaluation of your horse’s conformation, including back shape, shoulders, and withers, to help determine the most suitable saddle type and size.
Template & Measurements: Templates of your horse’s back are taken to ensure accurate fitting and assist with future saddle fittings.
On-the-Spot Adjustments: Included in your fitting consult fee are minor flocking adjustments, gullet changes, small shimming, and hardware replacements where required.
Recommendations: If your current saddle isn’t suitable, we can recommend alternatives, or you can test ride one of our NEW saddles, or a saddle from our second hand range.
Optional Add-ons (Additional Cost): Full reflocking & flock conversions, gullet bars, custom shims, and gullet adjustments using a press, if needed.
